Xbox’s October announcement names those two plans. For a subscription-free trial window, EA lists PlayStation and Steam, with different opening and closing times. Pick your route below before starting a download.

The October 13 addition is useful if you already subscribe. Check your plan’s full name, rather than assuming that every membership with “Game Pass” on the bill has the same library.
| Your plan | Included? | What to check |
|---|---|---|
| Game Pass Ultimate | Yes | Listed for cloud, Xbox Series X|S and PC. |
| PC Game Pass | Yes | Use the PC route; it does not give you a console membership. |
| Game Pass Premium | Not listed | Check your account’s catalogue before paying for an upgrade. |
| EA Play | On The Play List | Match your membership to the platform you want to use. |

This is membership access, not permanent ownership. EA’s announcement describes unlimited access through EA Play and separately says the Game of the Year Edition is not included. A paid edition, its extras and the subscription library are different things.
When does the October free trial start and end?
Use the platform-specific window. EA’s heading says October 15–19, but its detailed terms give PlayStation an earlier opening. The converted times below follow those detailed UTC values.
| Platform / zone | Starts | Ends |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation · UTC | Oct 14 · 15:00 | Oct 19 · 20:00 |
| PlayStation · US Eastern | Oct 14 · 11 a.m. EDT | Oct 19 · 4 p.m. EDT |
| PlayStation · US Pacific | Oct 14 · 8 a.m. PDT | Oct 19 · 1 p.m. PDT |
| Steam · UTC | Oct 15 · 17:00 | Oct 19 · 17:00 |
| Steam · US Eastern | Oct 15 · 1 p.m. EDT | Oct 19 · 1 p.m. EDT |
| Steam · US Pacific | Oct 15 · 10 a.m. PDT | Oct 19 · 10 a.m. PDT |
EA’s free trial terms supply the UTC times; Next Up Guide converted them to Eastern and Pacific time. EA says times can change.

Is there an Xbox free trial too?
Xbox is not named in this limited trial’s platform list. The confirmed Xbox route here is the paid membership addition. Don’t read a PlayStation or Steam promotion as a promise that Xbox has the same free window.
If you already have Ultimate, check the included game first. If you do not, compare the subscription route with the store price before buying anything just for this week.
What do you need before trying it?
EA requires an internet connection and an EA account. Its terms also note that console access may require a paid console subscription and that the PC version may require the EA app.
Before game night, check the relevant store’s installation and account prompts, then give the download time to finish. Avoid using an old launch-week guide as your download checklist.
Do you keep the game when the trial finishes?
The free trial is temporary access. Keeping the installation on your drive does not extend the advertised window. Check the store’s purchase or membership options if you want to continue afterward.
Optional in-game purchases deserve a separate check: EA says trial purchases are not refunded when the trial ends. There is no need to buy extras just to find out whether you enjoy the game.
For progression carry-over, use the current trial’s in-game notice or an explicit EA statement before buying. This guide does not promise that every type of progress or entitlement transfers across platforms.
