K-Royal Culture Festival Fall 2026: Booking Links and What to Check

An evening in hanbok at Gyeongbokgung or an early start at Changdeokgung? If you’re visiting Seoul this October, these are two palace programs to plan ahead for.

The K-Royal Culture Festival runs October 7–11, 2026, according to the Korea Heritage Service’s announcement. Here’s how to find the booking pages, plus the practical details for the Hanbok Royal Banquet.

THE BANQUET: THE SHORT VERSION

Entry is free, but you’ll need to book ahead and arrive in traditional hanbok. There’s no clothing rental at the venue, so arrange your outfit before you go. The event is scheduled for October 9 and 10, from 7–9 p.m.

Booking the Hanbok Royal Banquet

The festival organizer links international visitors to Creatrip. You’ll need an advance reservation; the listing says there is no registration at the door.

What does the free ticket cover?

Admission to the banquet event is free. Hanbok rental and your journey to the palace are separate arrangements. The event ticket does not include a separate daytime palace visit.

Who is this booking page for?

This is the international-visitor ticket allocation. Creatrip lists foreign nationality or qualifying overseas permanent residency conditions for the person booking and their guests. It also specifies age 7 or older (born in 2019 or earlier). Guests born in 2008–2019 need an accompanying guardian, and each person needs a ticket.

You can reserve up to four tickets per person; tickets cannot be transferred. If you hold Korean nationality with foreign citizenship or overseas permanent residency, read the eligibility notes before booking: the listing asks for a passport and supporting proof, and the Korea Heritage Agency makes the final eligibility decision.

What should you bring?

Have your booking QR code and passport ready for check-in, along with residency documentation if that is the basis of your eligibility. Arrive already wearing traditional hanbok: the listing says visitors without it cannot enter, even with a reservation.

There is no hanbok rental or sales service inside the venue. Before choosing an outfit, see the palace’s official hanbok guidelines, linked from the booking page.

Need to rent a hanbok?

Start with “hanbok rental near Gyeongbokgung” in Google Maps. For Korean map apps, copy 경복궁 한복대여 (hanbok rental near Gyeongbokgung) or 경복궁역 한복대여 (near Gyeongbokgung Station).

Check the return time before the price. The banquet ends at 9 p.m., so ask whether you can keep the outfit through the event and return it afterward. Allow time to walk back to the shop. A daytime rental may not cover the evening.

When comparing options, ask what the quoted price includes, whether a deposit is needed, and whether the outfit meets the event’s traditional-hanbok rules.

A message you can copy:

“I’m attending the Hanbok Royal Banquet at Gyeongbokgung on October [9 or 10]. It ends at 9 p.m. Can I rent a traditional hanbok for the evening? What is the latest return time, and what is the total price?”

These links open map searches, not a list of vetted shops. Evening availability and rental terms need to be confirmed with the shop.

When and where do you check in?

The listed check-in window is 6:30–7 p.m., with the program running 7–9 p.m. Entry is through Yongseongmun or Hyeopsaengmun. Gwanghwamun is closed for this event, so don’t make the main gate your meeting point.

Our suggestion: aim for the start of the check-in window, giving yourself time to find the entrance. Save your booking confirmation offline so you have its entry instructions to hand.

What if your plans change?

Creatrip’s cancellation section allows cancellation up to three days before the visit. Its event notes say arrivals more than 15 minutes after the program begins cannot take part. Weather can also affect the event; the provider says cancellation notices will be sent by email.
